How to Backup and Restore GB WhatsApp Pro Chats

GB WhatsApp Pro uses local backups stored on your device — there is no automatic Google Drive sync because Meta reserves Drive integration for the official client. Local backups are fast, work offline, and survive reinstalls. Here is how to back up and restore reliably.

  1. Open the Chat Backup screen

    Inside GB WhatsApp Pro, tap the three-dot menu → Settings → Chats → Chat Backup. This screen shows your last-backup timestamp and the total backup size.

  2. Tap the green "Back Up" button

    Tap "Back Up" at the top. Backup writes to /storage/emulated/0/GBWhatsApp/Databases/msgstore.db.crypt15. Backup takes 10–30 seconds for typical chat volumes.

  3. Verify the backup completed

    The "Last backup" timestamp updates to "just now". You can also use any file manager to confirm the .crypt15 file exists in the GBWhatsApp folder.

  4. To restore: reinstall GB WhatsApp Pro

    After (re)installing, launch GB WhatsApp Pro, accept the terms, and enter your phone number. The verification screen shows a "Restore" prompt because the backup file is detected.

  5. Tap "Restore" and wait

    Tap "Restore". A green progress bar shows the restore progress — typically 1–3 minutes depending on chat volume. Once complete, all chats, media, and groups reappear.

Tip: For cloud safety, also use the per-chat Export Chat feature — open any chat → tap the contact name → Export Chat → "Without Media" → email or Google Drive the resulting .txt file.
Warning: Backups do not sync between phones automatically. To migrate, copy the entire /storage/emulated/0/GBWhatsApp folder onto the new phone before opening GB WhatsApp Pro for the first time.
