Every archived version is signature-verified

We sign every archived APK with the same Independent developer team key as the current release, and we recompute the SHA-256 hash before each file is served. If a file gets corrupted on our CDN, the integrity check fails and the download is blocked automatically. You can request the SHA-256 hash of any specific version by emailing [email protected] .

Frequently asked questions about old versions

Are older GB WhatsApp Pro versions safe to use?

They are safe in the sense that we virus-scan and signature-verify every archived build — no malware. However, older versions use weaker anti-ban routing than v18.80, so your account-ban risk is higher. We strongly recommend the latest version for daily use; only download an old version if you have a specific compatibility need.

Will I lose my chats if I downgrade to an older version?

Sometimes — yes. Downgrading occasionally breaks the chat database because newer versions add fields that older versions cannot read. Always export-chat your important conversations before downgrading. If the downgrade fails to read your existing data, the older build will start fresh.

Why would I ever want an older version?

Three legitimate cases: (1) a regression in a recent version affecting a feature you rely on, (2) compatibility with a very old Android device (4.4 / 5.0 era), or (3) testing a specific build for development. For everyone else, the latest version is the right choice.

How long do you keep old versions hosted?

Indefinitely. Our archive goes back to v17.55 (May 2025) and we add each new release without retiring old ones. The total archive is currently 6 versions and grows monthly. If you need a build older than v17.55, contact us — we keep a deeper internal archive for support cases.

Do old versions still receive security patches?

No — once a new version is released, the previous build receives no further updates or patches. This is another reason to stay on the latest. Old versions remain available for compatibility, not for ongoing maintenance.
